Lauschen‘ is a German term for a specific form of listening that implies attention and concentration.

​I chose the gourd as material because of its form and its meaning. In China, Taoism regards the gourd as a symbol for the connection between macro- and microcosm.

​The bulgy form of the gourd functions as a funnel that collects sounds, amplifies them and sends them into the inner space to the person listening. 

The objects are accompanied by screen prints.
