EUROPE!?

United in Diversity

"United in diversity"  is the motto of the European Union (EU). It's flag features 12 stars, since the number 12 symbolizes perfection and integrity.

​

In 2015, the EU seemed on the brink of breaking apart. Unfortunately, since then, the crisis seems to have developed a permanent character.

​

It is a development that I experience as hurtful. EUROPE?! is an attempt to express this feeling in jewelry. Besides one, all of the 

objects produce physical discomfort when worn.

 

The material of the series symbolizes Europe: The star, the number 12 and the flag of the EU.
